Thanksgiving in the Park The Guadalupe Center annually hosts Thanksgiving in the Park as a thank you to the farm workers of Immokalee who bring the food to our tables. This is an annual tradition that goes back to our beginning in 1982 when 200 people were served. This past year over 4,000 people were served. This festivity, which includes a live mariachi band, is organized and carried out by individual volunteers, church groups, and social clubs. The volunteers do everything including securing donations of food, preparing the meals, serving the dinners, delivering dinners to the homebound, and cleaning up after the event. This gesture of thanks provides a heartwarming experience for all of the participants. |
