GUADALUPE AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM

1992, the Guadalupe After-School Program was established as a small tutoring program held in the Soup Kitchen immediately following the regular school day. The program now has over 250 students and is held at elementary schools in Immokalee. The After-School Program combines the use of certified teachers, adult staff and high school tutors to address the needs of their students, in kindergarten, first, and second grade throughout the entire school year.

Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty and students who attend the After-School Program are receiving a firm foundation upon which to build on as they continue to learn.
